At Spring Glen Veterinary Hospital, we provide care for your pet through all stages of life. Since pets age faster than we do, it’s easy to forget that they can be considered seniors just after seven years! As they get older, their health needs change in unique ways.
We will work with you to develop a health plan that is right for the unique needs of your senior pet. Nutrition, exercise, and the prevention of common problems through regular exams are all ways to help your senior pet stay healthy.
A senior health plan includes diet changes to support the kidneys and annual health screens that check the body, urine (diabetes, kidney disease, hidden urinary tract infections, etc.) and bloodwork to screen for liver, kidney, thyroid, anemia and hormone imbalances that can be identified and treated. There is so much more we can do for our older pets than ever before!
