Dr. Hammond
Dr. Margaret Hammond graduated from WSU in 1994. She spent 13 years in small animal practice and in emergency medicine, before joining Spring Glen in 2007. Dr. Hammond’s medical interests include soft tissue surgery, especially reconstructive surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Hammond lives with her husband and two cats in a small house with a big garden.
Dr. Herzstein
Dr. Maggie Herzstein joined Spring Glen Veterinary Hospital in August of 2021. She grew up in Southern Oregon on a large property with lots of animals – including goats, chickens, dogs, cats, birds and lizards. She started working in the veterinary field when she was 16 years old. She graduated from Washington State University in 2013 and practiced in a small animal clinic in Western Washington for 8 years before moving to Spring Glen Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Herzstein’s interests include dentistry, soft tissue surgery and medicine. She currently lives in Kent with her boyfriend, 6 year old rambunctious rescue dog Roland and 12 yr old, King of the House feline, Walnut. Dr. Herzstein enjoys gardening, hiking, being outside in general and going to Seattle Sounders games!
Dr. Smith
Please welcome Dr. Renée Smith to the Spring Glen Family! Dr. Smith was born and raised in Waco, Texas. She graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Texas State University in 2019 and obtained her DVM from Texas A&M University CVM in May 2024. Ever since she was in kindergarten, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Smith has been an animal lover for as long as she can remember. She lives with her fiancé, Ian, and her black fluffy kitty, Suki. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, cooking, working out, going to concerts, and spending quality time with friends and family. Dr. Smith’s veterinary interests include internal medicine and dentistry, she hopes to become certified in veterinary acupuncture soon. We are very excited to have Dr. Smith practicing at Spring Glen Veterinary Hospital in August!
