Our surgical procedures encompass many planned soft tissue surgeries such as diagnostic biopsies, mass removals, spay and neuter procedures. In addition, laceration repair, cat abscesses and the like are treated on an as needed basis.
It is important to us to make certain that every sedated or surgical procedure is performed as safely as possible for the pet’s welfare as well as the peace of mind of the owner.
Pets under general anesthesia receive the latest in the safest anesthetic protocols appropriate for their age and condition. IV catheters are used to provide not only a safe and effective way to deliver medication but to also provide ongoing fluid and analgesic support. In the case of an older animal, pre-anesthetic blood work will be required to allow the doctors to choose the best protocol for your pet.
Many times using local pain blocks, or even epidural blocks can make anesthesia even safer. The use of post-operative pain control is important to us and speeds healing.
We will also communicate with you about the things you need to know before, during and after your pet’s surgery. It is our goal to make the entire process go smoothly and to eliminate the stress and worry of surgery to the best of our ability.
