Gates get left open by a family member or worker, a front door gets left open while unloading groceries or an unexpected thunder storm brews up when you have left your pets outside. None us ever want to go through the heartache of losing a pet but it can happen so easily. Microchipping is a permanent form of identification that can help successfully reunite you with your pet.
According to information provided by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the number of dogs reunited with their owners who did NOT have a microchip was 21%. That number increased to 52% when the dog had been implanted with a microchip. In cats without a microchip only 1.8% were reunited with owner; that number increased to 38% in cats that had a microchip implanted.
